Reverend Judith V. Franks, 85, of Greensburg formerly of Albuquerque, NM, died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at home in Weatherwood Manor after a courageous fight against Super Nuclear Palsy. Judy was born on March 6, 1939, in New Kensington to the late Jim and Ruth (Fundis) Vernam. Judy was a Minister for many years, having received her education in Religious Sciences. She was also a long-time member of the Red Hat Society. Judy was a passionate Steelers fan and brought enthusiasm to every game. She also cherished her hobbies, which included painting, traveling and knitting; but above all, she treasured the moments spent with family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leland Franks, of 33 years; a stepdaughter, Lela and brothers, Robert and Tom Vernam. She is survived by her loving son, Daniel R. Engler and wife, Denise, of Youngwood; three grandchildren, Joshua Engler (Chrissy), Nic Engler (Katie), Jacie Engler and step-grandson Matt Davis. Judy is also survived by two stepchildren, Vivian Wisemann (Calvin) and Adam Franks (Sandra); 5 step-grandchildren, Aaron Wisemann; Carlee Wisemann and Celina Pozzi-Duran (Daniel), Amanda Carew (Robert) and Jacob Franks; 16 great-grandchildren and her fur babies, Hines and Pouncey. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Judith, Tuesday in the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home, Inc. 409 W. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 837-0020 from 4 p.m., until the time of services at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Porter officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of both Weatherwood Manor and Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Judy!
