Rev. Robert Adolphus Hilton

 

Rev. Robert Adolphus Hilton was born on March 3, 1951 in Nashville, Tennessee to Willie May Nunley. He departed this life on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Robert was educated in the Davidson County Public School Systems, graduating from North High School, Class of 1971. He continued his education by attending Oakridge Associated University, Vol State, Emory University, and Emanual Baptist College. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savoir at an early age and become a faithful member of 15th Avenue Baptist Church.

Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Sherrie Lockridge, November 1, 1977. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage.

Rev. Robert Hilton pastored United Methodist Church from 1989 to 1991, Hampshire Ridge 1991-1997, Dowell- Richmond 1997-2000, Smith County Parish 2002-2006, and Ernest Newman 2008-2010. He was also employed with Dell Computers and Panasonic for 15 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Nunley, grandmother, Maggie Vaughter, son, Eric Lockridge, daughter, Lateshia Turner, brothers, William Hilton, and Jackie Hilton.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife, Sherrie RJ Hilton, sons, Robert (Sherita) Edmondson, Michael Marsh, Michael (Chanell) Shabazz, brother, Oscar Hilton, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
