Rev. Thomas Patrick Gallagher

Died, March 16, 2026, in his 68th year of religious life as an Oblate of Saint Francis de Sales. Father Gallagher was a priest for 58 years and spent almost 40 years in secondary education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Ordained in 1967, Fr. Gallagher was known as a Spanish teacher and moderator of the school band. He served for 17 years at Northeast Catholic High School. In 1985 he was transferred to Father Judge High School and served for 23 years on Solly Ave. On the weekends, Fr. Gallagher ministered at many parishes in the Philadelphia area. He retired at Resurrection Parish and stayed there until last June. Due to declining health, he was assigned to the Oblate Retirement Facility at Childs, MD.

Family, friends, alumni, and his religious family are welcome to attend his funeral on Monday, March 23 at the Church of the Resurrection, 2000 Shelmire Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19152.

Viewing will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 7:00. Burial will be in the Oblate Cemetery at Childs, MD on Tuesday at noon.
