Reverend Howard Shadd, went home to the Lord on March 11, 2025. Born on July 7, 1931, in Logan, W Virginia, Howard was a beacon of light. His spirit and loyalty, made him a pillar within his community. His life was a testament to the verse from Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Howard's inspiring journey began in W Virginia, after joining the Army and being stationed in Germany was discharged at Fort Devens, he settled in Westminster with his wife Betty. He became a papermaker for Weyerhaeuser Corp. He served The Lord through his singing ministry “I Sing Because” on radio and FATV. He had a calling to become a full time Pastor with The Church of God for over 40 years.
Howard maintained a disciplined lifestyle, enjoying daily gym and Bible study that showcased his dedication to both spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Howard is survived by his sons, Howard (Ed) and wife Sandra, Jon Ethan, Garrett Eugene, daughters Patricia E. Frank and Kathryn E. Mancuso, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his beloved wife Betty Jean, his son James E. and his granddaughter Allyssa Shadd. Howard’s legacy is not just the family he leaves behind but the countless lives he touched through his work and unwavering faith.

Calling hours will be held Monday, March 17, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Brandon Funeral Home 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, Fitchburg. The Funeral will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11 am in the Brandon Funeral Home 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
