Rex L. Bope

Rex L. Bope, 64, of South Bend passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2024, at SJRMC-Mishawaka in the presence of his loving wife and family members.
Rex was born on December 31, 1959, in Bremen, IN to the late Russell and Bonnie (Whitehead) Bope.
Rex was a member of the Carpenters Union, local #413, retiring in 2007.
Rex loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and to Florida. He loved to play poker with his friends, especially with Mark, Jack, and the rest of the guys. His favorite things in life were his Dodge Charger, his dog, "Callie", and spending his winters in Florida with his wife.
Rex is survived by his wife, Carmen, his son; Tommy Bope, stepsons; Blair (Jessica) Girten and Quentin (Ashley) Girter, 3 granddaughters; Emma Bope, Remi Girten, and Jovie Girten, grandson; Silas Bope, Stepmother; Bev Bope, brothers; Curt (Cathy) Whitehead, and Keith Bope, sisters; Cheryl Davis, Monica Payne, Tracey Bope, and Ruby Roxanne Bope. Several nieces and nephews and close friends also survive.
A memorial visitation and sharing of memories will be held for Rex from 2pm-4pm on Sunday December 1, 2024, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.
