Rex Fox, 65, of Topeka passed away on March 12, 2025 following a short illness. He was born November 16, 1959 in San Bernardino, California the son of James W. and Hazel Fae Foster Fox. He moved to Topeka and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1978. He received his Associates Degree from Washburn University in Electronic Technology. Rex owned and operated Banner Mobility in Topeka. Prior to owning his own business, he was a Volvo Technician at Laird Noller Ford in Topeka. He served as a Reserve Officer for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department.
Rex was a problem solver. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop. He would invent things to help make his life a little bit easier, a heated ramp at his house, as well as a pneumatic doggie door for his beloved greyhounds are just a couple of examples. He was a tech inspector at Heartland Park, where he enjoyed NHRA races. Traveling was a favorite pastime, going to visit New Zealand, and Australia as well as National Parks in the United States. He and Rosalie enjoyed hosting Fourth of July cookouts at home for family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed downhill skiing and was a current member of the Topeka Ski Club.
He was married to Rosalie Seever on September 26, 1992 at Ward-Meade Park.
Survivors include Rosalie Fox of the home, brother Brad Fox and wife Teri of Topeka and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, Judy Beeman and Trudy Butcher, brother, Larry Davis and his beloved step-parents, Dale Laird and Mallie Laird.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Parker-Price and Davidson. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to REGAP or to the Combat Air Museum or the donor’s choice.
