Graveside services for Mr. Rex Allen Raynes will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, October 16, 2023, at Greens Creek Cemetery with the Reverend Eddie Hartfield officiating. Mr. Raynes, age 68, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Hattiesburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 16, beginning at 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home. There will be a funeral procession departing the funeral home at 2:30 PM enroute to the cemetery.
Rex Allen Raynes was born on September 16, 1955 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi to Frank Mitchell and Betty Smith Raynes. A lifelong resident of Carson, Mississippi, Mr. Raynes attended Bassfield High School and afterwards, worked for many years as a Tool Pusher in the Offshore Petroleum Industry. Many from this area will recall that he was also very talented when it came to working on small engines, which was a past time that he thoroughly enjoyed. Mr. Raynes was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Raynes is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kirk Raynes and Earl Raynes.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dianne Jackson Raynes of Carson; his daughter, Tania Raynes Jordan (Paul) of Sumrall; his son, Rex Allen Raynes, Jr. (Darla) of Troy, AL and his brother, Pete Raynes of Prentiss. The legacy of their Pawpaw will also live on through his grandchildren, Logan Jordan, Ian Jordan, Kylee Raynes, Noah Raynes and Avery Raynes.
