Rhea Dee Wassman, age 46, of Mankato, MN, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on September 25, 1978 in Fairmont, MN, the beloved daughter of Janet Wassman and Gary Wassman. Rhea brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her.
She had a special love for puzzles, coloring, crafts, travel, matching games, singing loud, and listening to Kenny Rogers and watching The Golden Girls.
Rhea was a charter member of Jesus Cares at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, a Christian ministry for adults with special needs, where she enjoyed hymns, devotions, and fellowship. She also participated in numerous longevity research studies, helping to advance medical understanding of her rare neurological disorder.
Rhea is survived by her mother Janet Wassman, and father Gary Wassman (Linda); her sister, Amy Becher; her brother, Kylian Wassman, (Sarah); and her nieces Samantha Johnson (Jordan, Kinsley, Wesley), Makena Wassman, Addison Wassman, Brooke Blaschko and nephew Nate Blaschko. And many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin and Thelma Wassman and Larry and Delores Staats.
Memorial Service is 11:00 AM Saturday June 21, 2025 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (1123 Marsh Street, Mankato, MN) with visitation one hour prior to service and a luncheon following. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to: Jesus Cares at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato, MN; Allina Health Hospice, New Ulm, MN; or Minnesota Epilepsy Group, St. Paul, MN.
