Indianapolis, Indiana – Rhonda René Cunningham, 59, passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2024. A beloved sister and friend, she will be sorely missed.
Rhonda was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Benjamin Cunningham Jr., and Mertie M. (Moore) Davis on November 18, 1964. She attended Perry Meridian High School and graduated in 1984. She then went on to work for J.P. Morgan – Chase for 36 years, rising to the rank of Senior Operations Specialist.
More than her work though, Rhonda was the sunshine for so many people. She loved her friends and family and lived to see them and bring a smile to their faces. She was a pet lover, a romantic at heart, and the biggest Superman fan.
When she would find time to relax, she loved to read, especially mysteries or listen to just about any type of music but with a fondness for older country.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Cunningham Jr., and Mertie Davis.
She is survived by her brother Benjamin Cunningham III, niece Christina Maria Henderson, great niece Analeia Maria; as well as dearest friend Stacey Dorsey.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) from 1-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to WomenHeart; a charitable organization focusing on women and heart disease.
