Rhonda Small Obituary

MUNCIE – Rhonda L. Small, 65, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 26, 2023 at her home.
She was born on December 4, 1957 in New Castle, the daughter of Ronald D. and Shannon J. (Beam) Cox and graduated from Winchester High School in 1976. On February 28, 1976 in Winchester, she married Clyde L. Small.
Rhonda worked at Ball State University for 32 years. While working full-time at BSU, she also completed her Bachelor's Degree in 2002 with a major in Telecommunications. She retired from BSU in 2020.
Rhonda was a woman of many amazing qualities, it's hard to summarize such a wonderful person in one little paragraph. She was thoughtful, fun, competitive, positive, as well as, a woman of integrity. She never knew a stranger. She was full of life with a charming personality and it was contagious to everyone she met. One of her favorite mottos was, "life is short, work hard play harder." And play hard she did! She loved boating, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Rhonda's family meant more to her than anything, she took so much pride in her two children and three grandchildren, bragging on them all the time. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, she loved hosting Christmas at her home for all of her family. And of course, last but not least, those who really knew Rhonda knew, she had a lead foot and her pet peeve was slow drivers in the fast lane!
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Clyde L. Small of Zionsville; one daughter, Mandy Maxwell (husband, Jon) of Zionsville; one son, Ryan Small (wife, Lisa) of Noblesville; three grandchildren, Levi Small, Mason Maxwell and Austin Maxwell; her mother, Shannon J. Hensley of Winchester; her father, Ronnie D. Cox (Ruby) of New Castle; five brothers, Steve Cox (Julie), Scott Hensley (wife, Lisa), Aaron Cox (Amanda), Ryan Cox and Skip Cox; one sister, Stacy Thompson (husband, Joe); and her best friend, Leve Thompson (husband, Richard) of Albany.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.
