Ria Meyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Summers Funeral Home - Ustick Chapel - Meridian on Feb. 9, 2026.
Ria Adele Meyer: Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and her husband on January 24, 2026. Ria was born December 16, 1934 in Queens, New York to Kathe and Paul Moser. Ria met and married the love of her life, her prince charming, Fred Meyer on May 21, 1955. Her husband's career was with Lockheed Aircraft which gave them both the wonderful and charmed life of living and working in several different U.S. states as well as foreign countries such as Greece, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. Each time they moved, Ria made sure their home was beautiful, comfortable and always filled with love, loved ones and friends. She made new friends no matter where she moved and made sure, they always felt welcome in their home. Ria's talents helped her explore and enjoy so many hobbies throughout her life. She was known for her wonderful cooking, baking and sewing skills. Both Ria and her husband Fred were always giving of their talents to various charity organizations and were both deeply involved with Shepherds' Home in McCall. To all who knew Ria she was a lady - charming, kind, generous and beautiful both inside and out. Missing her deeply are her daughter Debbie Prigatano and her husband Wayne and their two children Kristen and Richard; Ria's son James Meyer and his wife Beth and their children, Jessica Meyer and David Moore. Also, Ria was blessed to have both met and spent time with Kristen's fiancé Shiv and Richard's wife Natalie, and the new love in her life, her Great Granddaughter Slater. Funeral services will be held at Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church, 765 E. Chinden at 10:00am on Friday February 13th, followed by a celebration of life and then interment at The Idaho Veterans Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Boise Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Ria's name. Or add a plant to your own garden and each time it blooms think fondly of Ria and what she meant personally to you.
