Ricardo Bercedonis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Casey & Rios Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on January 4, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1955, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where his strong values, work ethic, and love for people were shaped from an early age.
A hardworking man with an endless sense of humor, he was known for his genuine kindness and deep humility. He never sought recognition, yet his presence left a lasting mark on everyone he met. Always willing to lend a hand, he found joy in helping others and had a special gift for making people laugh, even during difficult times.
Lovingly known by many as "Daddy Yankee Yo," he embraced life with rhythm, joy, and community. He had a deep love for salsa and reggaetón music, which often filled his home. Baseball was his favorite sport, and he enjoyed not only watching the game but also living it-having played baseball throughout his youth in a long and proud athletic career that remained close to his heart. He also loved playing dominoes, where laughter, friendly competition, and togetherness always followed.
He was devoted to his loving wife, Gladys Bercedonis, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, respect, and family. He was a proud and caring father to Linda Montañez and Donny Bercedonis, and a cherished grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Joshua, Jasslyn, Sabrina, Sarah, Jalissa, Brianna, Ava, and Jazelle, who were the light of his life.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of laughter, humility, music, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
