Middendorf Funeral Home - Fort WrightRichard H. “Rich” Poe III, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his residence.
Rich is survived by his beloved life companion, Beth Ossege, and her daughter, Ellory, as well as his children, Emma and Ben. He was the loving son of Richard H. “Dick” Poe and the late Carol Poe (née Green).
Rich was the dear brother of Mike Poe (wife Angie Poe) and a devoted uncle to Kate Harris, Madison Poe, Aidan Poe, Avery Cunningham, and Thomas Cunningham. His family meant everything to him.
Rich will be remembered for his remarkable ability to adapt to any situation and instantly become part of the conversation. When he walked into a room, you knew he had arrived. He had an incredible talent for making people smile and laugh—often to the point of tears—and for filling any space with energy and warmth. There was not a conversation he was not willing to have, and he approached every interaction with sincerity and enthusiasm.
He was deeply passionate about cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Cincinnati Reds, Xavier University basketball, and the Houston Texans.
Rich will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Post and Squadron American Legion Post 318 PO Box 54390 Cincinnati OH 45254 or Venmo @americanlegionpost318 (the American Legion Anderson Post No 318).
