Richard Albertelli Obituary
Richard J. Albertelli, 92, of Norwalk, passed peacefully into eternal life on December 11, 2024, surrounded by his family at Norwalk Hospital. Born in The Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Dominic and Anne (Gsell) Albertelli. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marjorie (Helfant) Albertelli, his sister Anne and brother Joseph Albertelli.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Richard served from 1951 to 1957. After the passing of his wife, he devoted himself to raising their children as a single father with love and dedication. His deep faith led him to serve Saint Matthew's Church for over 40 years in various roles including Eucharistic Minister and Pastoral Assistant to Monsignor Walter Orlowski.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard Albertelli (Lisa), Debra Bondi (Bruce), and Tracey Johnson, along with nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He also leaves behind his sister Lynda Baremore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Matthew's Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Saint Jude Foundation in Richard's memory.

Rick and Family,
My condolences on the loss of your father. He was truly a great man and it was wonderful to talk to him again at the memorial service for my father a few years ago. Over the years, my parents always told me how much Richard did to help others, which is something I knew anyway. Rest in peace.

Richio is one in a million. He always had a smile on his face, he did sooo many things at St.Mathews Church for many years, never complained no matter what needed to be done. Rest In Peace Rich. I enjoyed working with him at the church.
