Richard Alvarez Obituary
Mr. Alvarez grew up in Norton, Ma where he played football for Norton High School and graduated from Bishop Feenan High School, where he played hockey. Mr. Alvarez then went to Assumption College where he played football and lettered in track running the 3000M steeple chase. Mr. Alvarez then went on to the U.S. Navy where he reached the rank of Lieutenant. He then spent the rest of his career working for the FDA in MD.
Mr. Alvarez also leaves behind his life long Norton friends Gary Russell, Russell Zwicker, Pat Grieve, Gus Babinikas, Kredo Berzins, and Joe Burke who remember him fondly for his humor and his love of the show All in the Family.
Services will be private.

I just learned of Rich´s passing today. Rich was a wonderful colleague - I knew him for I guess 30 years. He was a hard worker, always had a kind word, and was very proud of his family.

My condolences and Prayers go up for the Alvarez Family. I am too shocked right now. Rich was very quiet and always working hard or getting someplace quickly with his rapid strides. Nicole and Family and Billy,
I am very sorry and saddened to hear about Richie´s passing. When I was much younger I always looked forward to seeing my cousins in Norton growing up when my Dad would take me along to visit. Rich, Chris and Billy always took the time to spend time outdoors and play sports with me. I vividly remember Richie´s hard snapshots when I would play street hockey with him while I played goalie. He was always very kind and generous of his time, and always inquisitive on what I was up to in the moment. His generosity is a Alvarez trait that I know has been passed along to his cherished children. Although in our later years we pretty much kept in touch with an occasional email to check in, I wish I had paid him one last visit and take the time to get to know his family more. When our Uncle Hank relocated to DC at the Armed Forces Retirement home back in 2005, Richie was the first to volunteer and get him there. Always thinking of others without question. I will always cherish my youthful moments together and his unbelievable and infectious laugh. I always respected him as a role model. He never wavered on what he believed in and was all about family. RIP my brother.

Rich was my husband and best friend and he loved his Norton family of friends so very much! He made everything more fun with his laugh and love of life!
