Dear Family of Richard William "Ricky" Aspinwall II,
I send you my deepest sympathy. I hope it helps to hear Richard got the Heavenly reward he deserved. 100% I just wish he could have waited until his 100th birthday. Most souls get 70 years, but I know Richard was no ordinary fellow. Jesus needs his help building your mansions and chairs (to sit at His table). Our Savior´s first job was carpentry.

I didn´t know Ricky but my condolences go out to his family. He sounds like someone that would be a positive influence on young lives. Like he actually cares about the boys playing on a team. I work with his sister Ansleigh Aspinwall Gossett and she is full of energy keeping us safe. Like our on little angel at work. Ricky, you have earned your spot in the great heavens, you are a Hero and that can never be taken away. May God bless your family and friends.

I never knew or met Richard. I grew up in the neighborhood of his Mom, Maria. We lived behind the Durrance´s with a small creek between our homes. Maria and I went to school together. We were friends back then. I haven´t seen or talked to her in a REAL long time, but I´ve kept in touch with some Durrance´s over the years. This really breaks my heart for Maria along with the Durrance and Aspinwall families. Prayers for peace, comfort and strength to help them through this very difficult time. RIP Ricky Jr. Thank you for being a Hero to your students.

He was in 8th grade and he wanted me to shave his head. We did not have any hair clippers, so we improvised. I pulled out scissors and cut off as much hair as I could. Then....I used a leg shaver to shave his head. He screamed and I laughed the entire time. I had to finish what we started, it took forever, but he got a shaved head. He went to school the next day and got so many compliments, and he told me "thank you, but we ain't never doing that again."

He was an it was his first night home in his own crib. My mom and dad were still sleeping, so I snuck into Ricky's room and held his little fingers while he slept. I was 4, so the only song I knew was the ABCs. I must have stayed in there with him for a while singing to him, and I remember telling him that "I love you so much little brother."

He was my geometry teacher at Mountain View HS in 2018. He was always so calm and patient even when dealing with 9th graders. He loved football. He always had stickers of footballs on the wall of his classroom and when a student would score a high grade on a test, he'd write their names on it. Kinda like a wall of fame. May his family and loved ones find peace during this difficult time. He died protecting his students, that's the kind of person he was. May his soul rest in peace.
