You were a brilliant visual artist and one of the reasons I became a photographer. Thank you.

Aa a former photojournalist and photographer myself, I really enjoyed the subtle things he did that made his photos work so well.

And he made it seem so easy too.

He was a genius! A legend! He took the sort of photos I wanted to take but he was always at least a thousand steps beyond us.

He was amazing!

So gifted, talented and such a hard worker -- and it all showed to beautifully in every photo he took.

HE WILL BE MISSED!

Out of all of the world-renowned photographers, your photographs were the best by far. You had the magic touch and it showed. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace. Leta Ensey of The Leta Ensey Show on Comcast Cable in Texas.

The world is really black and white and through your work you endeavoured us to create colour in all is magnification of what our true souls can be. There are no accidents in life, just miracles in waiting.

Yours’ will be a life we will all remember dearly.

To Mr Avedon.

Thanks for the wonderful work over the years, your stunning style of photography still mesmerizes me to this day.

My Favorite Work is The Work you did with The Band Megadeth for The Album Youthanasia in 1996.

Only days ago my husband and I were looking through one of our treasured books, "Richard Avedon Evidence 1944-1994", and we were reminiscing about being so fortunate to have seen the exhibit ten years ago at the Whitney Museum in NY. To cap off a wonderful experience, the honoree was there to personally greet visitors. When we saw that he was there, we were delighted, prompting my husband to rush to go buy the souvenir book. The museum was about to close so he only had seconds to spare to return with the book for Richard Avedon to sign. He was so gracious to us. We always remember his brilliance, along with the personal touch that he extended to us...with his memorable smile. His mark on the world will live on forever. May he rest in peace...and may the cherished memories of those who loved him, and those he loved, be of comfort as we all mourn the loss.
