As a fellow Taftian and Dentist I am so very sad to hear about Dr Barnes passing. He inspired myself and later on my son on the management tools necessary for a successful practice. Maybe more importantly he taught us how to live our lives in the difficult world that Dentists exist in and to keep centered as professionals. He once told me that my dad who was his French teacher at Taft High School was his inspiration and somewhat responsible for his success. I will sadly pass this on to my older brother Gene and son Michael who were also inspired and proud of our fellow Taftian Dr Barnes. He influenced many. God Bless Dr Dick Barnes and his family

Dick had the greatest influence on my dental practice and my attitude towards life in general. So sorry to hear of his passing as I think of him often when I need to make a decision and pass on all his ideas to every new dentist i see

Dr. Barnes was driven by a passion to help others reach their highest potential. I will be forever grateful to him for the many opportunities he afforded me. We can all find comfort in knowing his good works and legacy will last forever. Rest in peace my friend.
