Richard "Pete" Barnes

Richard "Pete" Barnes, 70, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. The graveside service will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Moulton Memory Gardens with Rev. Jesse Reeder and his nephew, Josh Dutton officiating. In the event of bad weather, the service will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home at 12:30.
Born on May 4, 1952 to the late Buron and Annette Lewter Barnes, Pete was a member of Moulton Baptist Church and a lifetime truck driver.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of 21 years; special nieces and nephews Dusty Lanier and Nikki (Josh) Dutton; very special great nieces and nephews, Ava Lanier, Natalie Speegle, Charlee Lanier, and Porter Dutton; sisters, Jean Chandler, Ann Cross, Susie Moore, Connie Royster, and Linda Blankenship; brother, Dob (Joy) Barnes; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne Barnes, and J W Barnes; sister, Martha Autrey.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Lanier, Aaron Moore, Michael Moore, Keith Barnes, Jerry Carroll, and George Simms. Honorary pallbearers are Don Letson and Johnny Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Moulton Baptist Church.
