Richard Leslie Baum
Age 84, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. Son of the late Edward and Christine (Knapp) Baum. Beloved husband to Francine (Kiss) Baum. Father to, Kelly Baum and the late Eric Baum. Brother to, Alan (Karen) Baum and the late Robert Baum, nephew to, Betty Slatinsky. He was a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. Richard was a man of courage, curiosity, and deep devotion to both his country and his family. A skilled pilot and proud paratrooper with the 101st Screaming Eagles, he lived a life marked by service, discipline, and quiet bravery. His time in uniform remained a source of great pride and shaped the values he carried throughout his life. Beyond his military service, Richard was a faithful member of The Gideons International, where he found purpose in sharing his faith and serving others. He was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farm. His commitment reflected his belief in living a life rooted in service, integrity, and compassion. Richard was also the cherished historian of his family. He had a remarkable gift for preserving memories, carefully collecting stories and photographs that captured generations of love, milestones, and everyday moments. Through countless photos and shared recollections, he ensured that the family's history would never be forgotten. Above all, Richard loved his family deeply and took great pride in their shared legacy. He will be remembered for his steady presence, thoughtful spirit, and the lasting impact he made through service, faith, and remembrance. His life leaves a legacy of honor, devotion, and memories that will continue to be treasured for years to come. All are welcome on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 2-6PM, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 412-563-2800. A Funeral Service will take place Wednesday 6pm in the funeral home. Interment Thursday, February 12, 2026 11am at St.Clair Cemetery. 944 Saint Clair Way, Greensburg, PA 15601.
