Richard Duane "D.j." Bennett II

Richard Duane “D.j.” Bennett II, age 35, a lifelong resident of Danieltown, VA, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025.

 He was preceded in death by his grandmother, “Nana” Bennett; his grandfather, “PaPa” Spencer; and an uncle, Billy Bennett.

 He is survived by his loving parents, Duane and Mary Carol Bennett; his grandfather, “Papa” Bennett; his grandmother, “Nana” Spencer; aunts, Dana Daniel (Timmy) and Addie Bennett; an uncle, Mike Spencer (Jayne); cousins, Clark Bennett and Scott Spencer (Kennedy), his beloved hunting dogs, as well as many friends.

 D.j. was a 2007 graduate of Brunswick Academy and was employed at Philip Morris. His hobbies included hunting, field trials, playing softball, and working. Most of all, he enjoyed having a good time with his friends.

 The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. A funeral service will be held at Noon Friday, also at the funeral home. D.j. will be laid to rest at the family cemetery during a private ceremony.

 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating a bag of dog food to your local animal shelter.

 D.j. touched many people during his short life and the family is extremely grateful to his many friends.
