Richard Alan "Rick" Bernson

Richard "Rick" Alan Bernson, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather (Gpa), beloved brother, and faithful follower of Christ, passed away on December 3rd in Loveland, Colorado, surrounded by the love of his family. Rick was born on May 4th, 1951, in Colorado, and spent much of his childhood in Illinois before returning to Colorado in 1987-a place whose mountains and wide-open spaces he came to love deeply. On December 2, 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda, beginning a marriage built on faith, warmth, loyalty, and joy.

A proud father to four daughters, Rick poured his heart into raising his family. He is survived by:

· Daughter Michelle Kieser (John), along with their children: Noah (Brook), Isaac, Sarah, Gabe, and Elijah

· Daughter Selina Burridge

· Daughter Lily Allen, and her daughters Megan, Maddy, and Everleigh

· Daughter Bekka Derr (Dominic), and their children: Gavin (McKenna), Owen, Anabelle, and Nate

Rick (Gpa) adored all of his grandchildren, often encouraging their mischief with the playful heart of a big kid. He was gentle, patient, and unfailingly kind-never one to anger, always one who chose to see the good in everyone.

A man of simple joys, Rick loved food-especially Mexican dishes, spaghetti, tacos, and anything sweet. He enjoyed running, golfing, spending time in the mountains, and studying the Bible. His deep faith guided every part of his life, shaping the way he loved, served, and cared for those around him. He faithfully helped all of his children with their math homework throughout their school years, teaching with patience and reassurance.

For many years, Rick owned and operated a window-cleaning business, known for his honesty, hard work, and dedication to his customers. He taught his sons-in-law the business, and today his son-in-law and grandsons proudly carry on his window-cleaning legacy.

Rick is survived by his siblings in birth order:

· Bill Bernson

· Ed Bernson (Gina)

· The twins Kevin Bernson (Schryll) and Karen Watt (Tim)

He is also survived by his brother-in-law Rich, husband of his late sister Joyce, who passed away in December 2023.

Rick leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him and will remember his humor, warmth, and gentle spirit.

Rick will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his kindness, and the love he freely shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in his daughters, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all whose lives were touched by his laughter, guidance, and grace.
