Richard (Dick) Betts, 93 of Missoula, Montana passed away at his home on April 18th, 2022. He was born on April 1, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa to Arthur and Katherine Augustine. Dick went onto attend Western State College in Gunnison and moved to California where he graduated from John Muir College in Pasadena on June 1951. He received his BS in Forest Management from Colorado A&M in Fort Collins, Colorado on June 1954.

Once with his youngest daughter, Julie and eight times with his son, Jim. He was fortunate to be able to retire at 59 and took up skeet (competitive) shooting, and was part of the Monday morning crew at the Missoula Trap and Skeet Club. Dick also enjoyed golfing several times a week, riding his mountain bike, fly fishing and gardening.

Teresa, Ron, Jim and Julie - I just heard this morning about your dad's passing and express my condolences. I will have memorial trees planted in memory of both your mom and dad. Have such great memories of Dick as we initially met through the ski patrol. Will always remember Dick's smile and sense of humor sharing many laughs together. After moving back to MN and on a few visits to Missoula I would make a point to see Dick and Marian. The last time was when I attended memorial celebration for our dear mutual friend Harley "Griz" Schwarz. The 3 of us shared many memorable times together with the ski patrol. You are fortunate to have had your dad to 93 with many memories never to be forgotten. Rest in Peace Dick.
