Bikowicz, Richard E.
REXFORD - Richard E. Bikowicz, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Rexford, N.Y., on December 10, 2025, after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Niskayuna, the son of the late Victor and Sophie Bikowicz, Richard was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. After college, Richard trained as an apprentice to learn the HVAC trade.
Richard married his beloved wife, Marilyn on April 11, 1964, and together they founded Appolo Heating and Cooling, in Schenectady, in 1968. Richard believed in giving back to the community and was a generous benefactor to charities, particularly those that assisted children or animals. Richard was a longtime member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville.
Richard was predeceased by his wife; his parents; and his brothers, Victor and Robert. He is survived by his son, MegaZone (Jessica Terry); his sister-in-law, Nanci (Bob) Brown; his aunt Clara Quick; his brothers, Donald (Linda) Bikowicz and Dennis (Nancy) Bikowicz; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, 6 to 8 p.m., at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, N.Y. at 10 a.m., with Rev. Russell Bergman officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Road, Niskayuna, NY.
