There were many sides to Mr. Blackwell, I was blessed to know the loving, generous and warm Mr. Blackwell, I really miss the weekends with you and Spencer driving around looking at real estate, I remember when I gave you GEORGE your poodle, you cursed when he was car sick all the way to L.A. Oh, but how you loved that dog. I hope you are both in heaven,
I miss you so much and I will always cherish your many beautiful gifts.

I am very sad to hear of Mr. Blackwell's passing. I will always remember him through the many photos and memories when "our group" were able to travel with him.. He was kind, down-to-earth, thoughtful, very entertaining and a really nice guy.
I can never forget the "good times" on the Stella Solaris when Mr. Blackwell and Robert Spencer were onboard as special guests-(such remarkable gentlemen). I send my condolences to Spencer and to Blackwell's close friends and family.

Dear, Dear Mr. Blackwell,
You were so much a part of my late teens and early twenties (1957-1962) ~ Going to work every morning I would pass Charlottes Boutique in Akron Ohio where they would show case your dresses in the front window of their shop. One afternoon I went in and asked if I could make payments on one of the cocktail dresses. Much to my delight, they said “yes”. I was the happiest owner of 5 or 6 of your dresses. How I wish I had kept them, for they would still be in style. Through the years I have followed you and will miss you terribly. You were so much fun… My symphony goes to your family.

I shall dearly miss Mr. Blackwell’s witty, precise, and candid appraisals of the fashion scene. Although there will never be another like him, I hope someone will step up and try to fill the void.

Do you think he’s critiquing shrouds in the afterlife? I hope so!

You had the courage to say what others were thinking, and I have the utmost respect for you. My sincerest condolences to your family and friends, and all who loved you.
