Richard Blakely

Richard Blakely, Jr., of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 37. Born in Virginia on November 28, 1988, Richard was a beloved son, brother, and friend.

Richard had a deep passion for music and creativity. He enjoyed playing music and was both a talented drummer and guitarist. In addition to his love for music, he was also an artist, expressing himself through his creativity in many forms.

Richie had been courageously battling endocarditis, an infection of the heart, for some time. Despite his strength, his body was ultimately unable to overcome the illness.

He is survived by his loving parents, Susan Blakely and Richard "Richie" Blakely, Sr., and his sister, Valerie Blakely, who cherish his memory and the time they shared with him. His passing is a profound loss to those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Richie unselfishly gave a piece of his heart to anyone in need of care and compassion, until he had nothing left for himself. We find comfort in knowing that his love for others has brought him to a place where he is safe and in loving hands. Until we see you again, we will miss you and love you always, forever, Bud.

A celebration of life will be held on April 7, 2026 at 5:00 PM at New Realm, 1209 Craft Lane, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23454. All who knew and loved Richie are welcome to attend and honor his life.
