Richard Craig Boesen

March 13, 1948 - September 16, 2025

Richard Craig Boesen, 77, of Cedar Falls, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

He was born March 13, 1948, in Waterloo, the son of Donald and Ada Boemecke Boesen. He married Cindy Briden on August 28, 1971, in Waterloo.

Richard graduated from UNI in business and worked at the Waterloo Police Department retiring as a Lieutenant in 2003. He loved birdwatching and collected various items.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Cedar Falls; his son, Andy (Rachel) Boesen of Reinbeck; his daughter, Niki (Buffalo Bonker) Boesen of Old Hickory, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jake Dehut, Tyler (Jenna Albin) Dehut, Kameron Shroyer all of Des Moines, and Lily Boesen of Cedar Falls; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ron Boesen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.

Memorials may be directed to the Waterloo Police Foundation.
