I worked with Richard many years. He was there when I started at GEL 21 years ago. We talked many times as our children grew up, work changed, life ebbed and flowed. We both shared a love of martial arts and it was always a joy listening to him speak of his Judo career. I got to know him at work- he taught me much- and as important as work was to him, it was clear his love of his family and his life was by far his first love. Respect!!. I miss seeing you around bud. Godspeed

I worked with Richard for many years at GEL Laboratories. Richard helped me in my career a great deal and was more than just a coworker - he was a friend. He was funny and warm and always had a good story to share. I fondly remember getting together at his house on the creek with other friends and coworkers and fishing and shrimping and then gathering around to cook and enjoy the catch. Good times! He touched many lives with his kindness. I pray that his family finds comfort during this difficult time.

My wife and Brenda and I extend our condolences to the family at this time. I knew his parents fairly well, in fact, his father welcomed me into basic training at Ft. Jackson in 1955. We send our love and best wishes to all. Tom and Brenda Washington
