Rich aka "Ace," was instrumental in getting me into recovery. I met him in a support group in 2010, where he became my sponsor. I had many ups and downs and had struggled to find recovery, but no matter what Rich was there to pick me up, brush me off and show me the unconditional love I needed to eventually get and stay clean. I remember the meetings, the dinners after the meetings, the world convention in Philly, the new years convention we would go to yearly. Driving in the car listening to music, getting an education on the band and the lead singer. Watching Goodfellas, Die hard, and countless classics. When I moved to Florida we stayed in touch, he came down to visit me in rehab and pick me up when I got out. Thanks to him I have 6 years clean, got married with 2 stepchildren, own a house, have my own business and a superintendent for a luxury remodel and custom home builder. I am the chairperson in my local area, and in service to reach out and help those who still suffer. Hopefully one day Ill be able to do for someone what Rich did for me. I've gained a life, Im a husband, a father, and employee, a brother, a friend all thanks to Rich. I extend condolences to his family, he loved his daughter and lived for his grand daughter, his face would light up like a kid on Christmas morning anytime he talked about them. He will be missed by many but his legacy will live on with the stories we have.
