Richard J. Brickham, age 77 of Omro, WI, passed away at Edenbrook Omro, on October 27, 2025.
Rick was born April 15, 1948, in Oshkosh to the late Richard and Florence (Ebersberger) Brickham. After graduating from Oshkosh High School, he joined the US Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Vulcan (AR-5). Rick was honorably discharged in 1971. He married Jane Youngwirth O'Connell in 1979, and they were married for 46 years.
Throughout his years, Rick enjoyed many hobbies including raising tropical fish and exotic birds, making fishing lures, woodworking, and growing bonsai trees. He also enjoyed the many visits with his grandchildren and will be affectionately remembered as "Grandpa Ice Cream" due to his love for ice cream that he shared with the kids.
Rick is survived by his wife Jane; his children Michelle Brickham, Oshkosh; Lisa (Darren) Laabs, Winneconne; Scott O'Connell, Oshkosh; grandchildren Hunter (Kelsey) Laabs, Elizabeth (Noah) Johnson, Katelyn (Crystal Young) Laabs, Molly & Kenzie O'Connell; and great grandchildren Lakyn & Boden Laabs and Alayah Johnson. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Brickham, Millinocket, ME and niece Charlie Joe Brickham, Portsmouth, NH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph & Peter Brickham, his brother-in law Stephen Youngwirth, and his mother and father-in-law Ed & Fran Youngwirth.
Rick's family would like to thank the staff at Edenbrook Omro for the care provided to him during his stay.
Per Rick's request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
