Richard G. Brown, 67, of Spooner, WI passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2025 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Richard was born May 2, 1958, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the only son of Frank D. Brown and Bernice L. (Witkus) (Brown) (Schichel) Schwetz. Rick was the only boy "in the middle of sisters". Rick lost his dad early in life. He took the role of brother seriously.
In his younger years, "Ranger Rick" to his close friends, was an adventurer; always ready for a road trip and good time with friends. His escapades still amaze us.
Rick worked doing automotive, janitorial, construction, and concrete work over the years until he became disabled. He was a "fixer extraordinaire". Rick was always willing to help people out, whether he knew them or not. He was always prepared. You never knew quite what he might have with him "just in case something happens".
Rick was an avid outdoorsman, making the most of the woods and the water throughout all seasons. His biggest love was deer hunting. He enjoyed time with friends at deer camp, having many special memories. Rick was a prankster and enjoyed a good laugh. He could keep a straight face for a long time.
He loved his Vikings.
Rick met his wife, Anna Marie, and they were married in Chippewa Falls, WI. To that marriage came two children, Frank and Elizabeth. Rick was very proud of his children and family. He chaperoned school activities in early years, transitioning into fixing and advising in the later years. He was always there when needed. He loved spending time with family and looked forward to family gatherings.
The last decade was difficult for Rick; he experienced multiple strokes. He enjoyed watching wildlife out the window and spending time with family and friends.
Rick is survived by his wife, Anna Marie, son, Frank (Colby) Brown, daughter, Elizabeth (Jacob) Davis, grandson, Del Davis; sisters: Sandy (Don) DeMars, Cindy Brown (Ted Peterlik), Linda (Kevin) Fane, Susan Brown (Chris Blunt); in-laws: Joan Petz, Bryon (Margie) Petz, Marilynn Amundson, Carol (Dave) Landis, RaeNell (Don) Parker, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
Memorials/condolences may be sent to: Richard G. Brown Family, c/o Spooner Funeral Home, 306 Rusk St., Spooner, WI 54801.
