Brown Eyed Girl
February 27, 2026
I remember as a little girl going to the S.A. Field, Home Savings and Loan ballpark and watching Mr. Brubaker pitch. He was amazing to me and one of the reasons I wanted to be a pitcher for my girls softball team. Who can forget the Brubaker grunt and those countless strikeouts. He was brilliant and so skilled. Playing fast pitch and winning City of Aurora championships were the best days of my childhood, and little did he know I was one of his biggest fans. I once pitched 9 innings, a no hitter with 23 strikeouts and I thought of him way back then as he was truly an inspiration! Thank you Mr, Brubaker, may you rest peacefully!
