Richard Budney, a beloved friend and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, in Biloxi, Mississippi, at the age of 90. Born on September 14, 1933, in Pennsylvania, he carried with him the warmth of his origins throughout his life.
Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Yeoman Chief (YNC), demonstrating dedication and commitment to his country. His military service was a substantial part of his identity, and he often spoke fondly of the experiences he had while serving. He worked with the Navy as a Clerical Supervisor.
In his later years, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with friends, particularly enjoying the beauty of nature as he watched sunsets. These moments were a testament to his appreciation for life and the relationships he built along the way.
Richard is survived by his dear friend, Rebekah Logan, and her family members, Michelle Logan and Jon Logan. He leaves behind cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of his friends and family for years to come.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Leo and Sophie Budney, and his brother, Leonard Budney.
A graveside service honoring Richard will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
