Richard K. Burt, 98, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Better known as "Dick", he was born in 1927 in Pleasantville, PA, the son of Russell and Dora Sharp Burt.
He graduated from Oil City High School in the class of 1945. He also graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY.
Dick was a WWII veteran in the United States Army. He served in occupied Japan working in General MacArthur's headquarters in Tokyo.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Janet Martin Burt; and three brothers: Kenneth, Bob, and Gene.
He is survived by a sister Janet Orosz of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He has lived in Oil City, Bradford, PA, Port Richey Florida, and most recently in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lived with his son Gary and wife Roxanne for many years. Dick has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and thirteen nieces and nephews.
He worked for WR Case & Sons as a cost accountant and hiring manager. He also was the owner/ broker for Keystone Realty in Port Richey, Florida.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and having a large garden every year. In his younger years he played baseball and softball, always in the shortstop position, He enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers play.
He passed from a recent acute illness where he spent several weeks in the V.A. Hospital and was later transferred to Bethany Village retirement community.
Visitation will be held on Sunday (Nov. 9) from 1 - 2 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Denise Mains, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Plumer Cemetery.
