Richard Lee Carroll
January 8, 1947 - October 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Lee Carroll, who left us to join his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Richard was born on January 8, 1947 in Monroe, LA to Winford and Lillian Carroll. Most of his life was spent in and around Hattiesburg, MS. He graduated from Lumberton High School in 1964, and spent two years at Pearl River Community College. Richard retired from a career in oil field production after spending many years working for numerous companies. Not long after retirement, he became an employee of Auto Zone. His passion for muscle cars, antique vehicles, and automobiles in general made the job a perfect fit, as he was not only knowledgeable but deeply enthusiastic about them. Richard also had a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, appreciating their power, craftsmanship, and the sense of freedom they provided on the open road. Richard was a quiet man with a heart full of kindness and love, always showing compassion to those around him through his gentle nature and thoughtful actions. Although Richard made his home in Mississippi, he remained a devoted Alabama and Arkansas football fan, and rarely missed a game.

Richard Lee Carroll is survived by his wife, Jo Carroll; daughter, Melissa Renee Carroll; son, Richard Leslie Carroll; granddaughter, Mishayna Lillian Caroll; sister, Patsy Ann Welch; brother, Earl Duane Carroll; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Richard will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Winford McBride and Lillian Virginia Carroll; brother, Mack Edward Carroll; and sister, Barbara Sue Carroll.

In lieu of a formal service, the family asks that you remember Richard in your own special way, whether through a kind word, a shared memory, or simply keeping him in your thoughts. The family deeply appreciates the love, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
