Richard J. Cavarretta

Richard J. Cavarretta, 77, of Lacey Township passed away on November 18, 2024. Richard was born and raised in the Park Slope part of Brooklyn, NY. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1969. He was a proud Marine who fought hard for his country. For over 15 years, Rich worked for the New York City Sanitation Department. He moved to Lacey Township in 1982 and was active in the local VFW and Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of St. Pius X RC Church. Rich enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandkids.
Predeceased by his daughters, Cindy and Jeanna. Surviving is his wife, Maureen Cavarretta, sons Joseph and his wife Kimberly and Nicholas and his wife Kristin, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren along with a brother Raymond Cavarretta and sister, Linda Mullens.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731 and also on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cavarretta Family would be appreciated. Please send to Riggs Funeral Home at the above address in Maureen Cavarretta's name.
