Richard "Rick" Addison Coburn Jr., 65, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Rick was born on May 9, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, to Richard and Geneva (Wilson) Coburn, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Geneva Coburn of La Porte; brother, Steve (Rosie) Coburn of Fredricksburg, VA; sisters, Vicky (Doug) Samuelson of Rolling Prairie, Terry (Terry) Hazelgrove of Westville, and Kim (JR) Kubaszyk of La Porte; a very special granddaughter, Destinee; great-grandson, Malcom; children, Rick, Ryan, and Morgan; grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, and Kamerin; great-granddaugther, Ainslee; beloved dog and very best friend, Cooper; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Coburn Sr.; paternal grandparents, Robert (Thelma) Coburn; and maternal grandparents, William (Doris) Wilson.
Rick was a Routing Manager for many years at Showmen Supplies, Inc. He was a member of the La Porte VFW. Rick dearly loved his dog, family, Americana decor, and cruising around in his 1965 Ford Mustang.
He proudly served as a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps from December 13, 1980 to October 6, 1989. Rick was proud of his achievement as a Combat Engineer. His commitment to the military led him to annually participate in The Beirut Reunion for Veterans in Kokomo, IN. He was patriotic to his core.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Zigler officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the VFW Post 1130, 181 McClung Rd, La Porte, IN 46350.
