Richard Corsaro Obituary

Richard C. Corsaro, age 74, of Essex, passed away June 3rd, 2025. He was born on January 6th, 1951, in Kankakee, the son of Threestine and Florence (Lanoue) Corsano. Richard married Barbara Ravens on May 21st, 1971 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Richard was a cement finisher for Union Local 79 for 42 years until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and trap. He also enjoyed woodworking, making pottery, jewelry, and other crafts. Richard cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Corsaro; two children, Douglas Corsaro of Monmouth, IL, and Christopher Corsaro of Bradley, IL; one sister Eileen (Ron) Strawson of Kankakee, IL; one brother Roger (Diane) Corsaro of Champaign, Il; three grandchildren, Ty, Sam, and Max Corsaro; their mother, Michelle Corsaro; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial visitation will be held Monday, June 16th from 10am until the 12pm prayer service at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to uplifted care of Kankakee or the Parkinson Foundation.
