Richard hired me as a law clerk when he was Chief Legal Counsel for the Louisiana Dept. Of Corrections. He was a great guy & I enjoyed my 2 years working with him. I wish I had known he practiced TM as I also practiced TM since my college days. As I watched Bonnie Raitt receive Kennedy Center Honors recently, I told my husband how Richard had bought front row tickets to her Baton Rouge concert for his law clerks so many years ago. I still have a piece of pottery he gave me with the image of Professor Longhair on it hanging in my house. He was a truly cool, good & honorable man. He will be missed.

Eileen I´m so sorry that Richard has gone on to his next chapter. I met him when I was in law school and working during the legislative season and he was the lawyer for the department of corrections. He loved to dance. We went our separate ways but remained friends. Years later I had Carmella who was his biological child. The met when she was 20 and she got to know him and you. He was very generous with Carmella and they developed a close relationship. I´m glad he to know Carmella´s husband and her two boys. He had an interesting and exciting life and meeting you was the best thing that happened to him.

Many warm memories of Richard and his lively sense of humor! My dear mom, Libby Padwa, adored him, and the friendship of Richard and Eileen meant the world to her. He even penned Libby's obituary--brilliantly. Rest in peace.
