Richard Steven "Ricky" Craven

Richard Steven Craven,67, of Hamlet passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven. He was born December 28, 1958 in Richmond County, a son of the late Robert B. and Frances M. Stubberfield Craven.

If you knew Ricky, you knew he was the life of the party. Always with a smile on his face and always with a "funny" dad joke. He didn't know a stranger and before he left a bar, he would know every single person by name. Ricky could brighten anyone's day and would give you the shirt off his back. He cared deeply for people and had such a gentle heart. He will be deeply missed and remembered for those dance moves and a smile that could light up a room.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Richard Craven, Jr. 2001.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Ricky is survived by his daughter Heather Birol and his son in law Christian Birol. He is also survived by his granddaughter Taylor Sweat and great granddaughter Millie Dawn. His absence in our lives should be a reminder to live life to the fullest and don't just exist, live!
