CUNNINGHAM, Richard - of Clio, age 78, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Pastor Roger Day officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12-9pm where a memorial service will be held by the Eagles at 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Richard was born August 20, 1930 in Sterling, Michigan to the late Seymour and Alice (DePeal) Cunningham. He had resided in the Clio area since 1953. Richard married Donna Miller on June 28, 1952 in Standish. Mr. Cunningham retired from Buick in 1988 with 35 years seniority. He was a member on the Clio Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3609 and the UAW Local #599. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are: wife, Donna; children, Robert (Wendy) Cunningham of Swartz Creek, Marty (Terry) Cunningham of Davison, Lynn (Jeffery) Mattingly of Clio, Jerry (Melissa) Cunningham of Sterling; 19 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; brothers, Don (Patricia) Cunningham of Twining, Dwayne (Shirley) Cunningham of TX, Melvin (Ruth Jane) Cunningham of Vassar; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Dennis Day. Richard was also preceded in death by his son Bradley in 2004; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A special thank you to the staff of Home Health and Hospice and friend Pat Jones.
