West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory - MariettaRichard Derrick Daly passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 65. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet strength, humor, and presence left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
Born in Trinidad to Margaret Keyes and Joseph Daly, Richard grew up surrounded by family and lifelong friends. He carried with him a deep love for those closest to him and valued loyalty, resilience, and authenticity.
Richard was known for his kindness, determination, and thoughtful nature. He had a remarkable way of remembering the important moments in people’s lives—especially birthdays—which was just one of the many ways he showed others that they mattered to him. Whether through conversations, shared meals, or simply his presence, Richard had a way of making others feel seen and understood.
He was also a devoted sports enthusiast who loved following games and discussing his favorite teams. In quieter moments, he enjoyed watching dog competitions and the well-known “Best in Show” programs, appreciating the discipline and excellence they displayed.
Richard is survived by his loving mother, Margaret Keyes; his siblings Lisa Daly Selby, Susan Otis, Brian Daly, Regina Faison, and Elizabeth Daly; and his stepmother, Melanie Daly, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Daly.
Though our hearts carry the weight of his absence, we also carry gratitude for the years we shared with him. His life reminds us to hold family close, to forgive quickly, and to treasure the time we are given with one another.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, reflection, and love as we honor Richard’s life. Inurnment will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Richard’s memory.
Richard’s memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons we carry forward, and the love that continues to bind us together.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
