Richard Albert Darrow

Richard Albert Darrow, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on December 11, 1934, in Santa Barbara, Richard lived a long and meaningful life marked by his quest for travel, a large circle of friends and enjoyment of his later years.

Richard came of age in a time of great change and carried with him a lifelong sense of curiosity and resilience. He was known for his steady presence, thoughtful advice, and the warm humor he shared so easily. Whether through simple conversations, shared meals, a ready joke, or moments of reflection, he made people feel valued and heard.

He enjoyed dancing, playing chess and the occasional game of pool with his friends. Before he retired, he worked for many years at Western Electric and Unisys Corporation. Retirement took him on travels with his wife Jeanne, who predeceased him. In the last few years, he enjoyed visiting his daughter and son-in-law in Palm Springs, California.

His many friends in Sonora, and the new ones he made in Palm Springs will miss his laugh and willingness to "take three minutes" to teach someone how to dance.

Rich requested that no service be held, just a big dance party.
