Richard "Dick" John Gusse

Richard “Dick” John Gusse 85 of Bainbridge, OH passed on to his heavenly home, Sunday October 22, 2023  from Legacy of Chillicothe. He was born Sunday, December 12, 1937 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Richard Carl and Ruth Bernice (Borgman) Gusse. On December 19, 1998 he married Elizabeth “Liz” Joan Hagen who passed on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Dick is survived by his sons, Kirk (Carlene) Gusse of Hawaii and Craig Gusse of California; daughter Jori Anglin; stepchildren Laura (Jerry) Widmayer of Chillicothe, Paula Toenniges of Hillsboro and Donald Toenniges of Georgia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren including a special grandson Colton Lewis of Hillsboro; and one brother John Robert Gusse of California.

In addition to his wife and parents Dick was preceded in death by a stepson Johnny Smith.

He drove a truck for many years traveling across the United States. Dick loved the ocean, and he enjoyed sailing.

Dick was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Chillicothe where services will be held 7 pm Monday, October 30, 2023 with Pastor Terry Yahr officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6:30 pm until the time of service at the church on Monday. He will be laid to rest in the Dayton National Cemetery, there will be no graveside service.
