Richard A. Dix passed away on Feb. 24, 2026, at home with family. He was 78 years old.
He was the loving husband of Joan (nee Jeffery) and they were married for 49 years and together for 54 years. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Deb) Dix; his children: Kimberly Slack (nee Tyndall) and Roger (SIL), Douglas Tyndall and Sandra (DIL), and Kristin Dix. He was the devoted grandfather of Severn, Jonathan ( Crystal), Hope, Joshua (Bao), Alexander, Wyatt, Logan, Annabella, and Lillian; and is further survived by 8 great-grandchildren: Nadia, Jonathan, Madaliya, Dominic, Maddox, Paxton, Layla, Kennedy, and Enzo.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the ability to be outdoors with family.
He had a lifelong friend that went through many monumental life changes together; childhood, Vietnam, weddings, deaths, and life till the end. Thank you Dick and Kathy Jensen.
Richard was survived by friends and family that loved him and supported him in his final days.
Services will be held at The Union Grove VA for family.
Other celebrations of life will be held at a later date.
