Richard R. DODGE, 77, of Wellsville, NY, died Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family.
Born August 15, 1945, in Wellsville, he was the son of Alfred C. and Helen L. Bliven Dodge. On September 27, 1969, in Scio, he married the former Carol Nolan, who survives. A graduate of Andover High School, he was a Vietnam Veteran serving honorably with the US Army from 1964 – 1967. He was employed by Dresser Rand in Wellsville and retired from Air-Preheater in Wellsville as a truck driver. After retirement, he was employed by NAPA for 15 years. Richard was a member of the Hallsport Christian Church, Scio Fire Company, Duke Hose Fire Company, and a lifetime member of the Wellsville Ambulance Corps, where he had served as president, treasurer, and trustee.
Surviving besides his wife, Carol, are: three children, Donald (Barbara) Dodge of Wellsville, Dawn (Jerry) Tucker of Coudersport, and David (Tabbatha) Dodge of Bethpage, TN; eight grandsons, Kyle Guinnip, Ryan Dodge, Adam Dodge, Matthew Forness, Aaron Haskins, Johnathan Dodge, Joshua Dodge, and Logan Abell; six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Robert (Dot) Dodge of Bainbridge, Arlene (Tom) Wesche of Colorado, and Maxine Burdick of Wellsville; a special sister-in-law, Brenda (Don) Hays of Oswayo, PA; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Douglas Dodge and William Dodge.
Friends may call Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at OLNEY-FOUST Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday at the Hallsport Christian Church, Hallsport. Rev. Mike Brady, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hallsport Union Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Morrison B. Hayes American Legion Post #702.
Memorials may be made to the Hallsport Christian Church or the Wellsville Vol. Ambulance Corps.
