Richard Dreisbach

Richard (Dick) Dreisbach, 89, of Westerville, formerly of Findlay, passed away at Danbury Senior Living of Westerville, Parkside Village, on Wednesday, October 08, 2025. He was born in Findlay on April 11, 1936, the son of the late Frank and Lois (Frech) Dreisbach. On June 7, 1957, he married N. Vivian (Riggle) Dreisbach who preceded him in death in 2024 after 66 years of marriage.
Survivors include his son, Jim (Dani) Dreisbach, of Westerville, granddaughters, Hannah (Codey) Jenkins, of Westerville, and Faith (Kyle) Couch, of Marengo, and great grandchildren Lily, Daisy, and Clara Jenkins, and Gideon and Levi Couch. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Vivian Dreisbach, and a sister, Mary Jane Deeds.
Dick was a 1954 graduate of Findlay Senior High School. He received his BS in Business Administration from BGSU in 1958, and later continued his education by earning an MBA from BGSU in 1970. Dick also served in the US Army National Guard, Company C of the 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, honorably discharged as a Sargent E5.
After graduation from college, Dick and Vivian moved to Cleveland where Dick worked for the Cleveland Trust Company as a teller and accountant for two years. They moved back to Findlay in 1962, when Dick began working for Marathon Oil Company in Finance and Accounting. In the mid-seventies he shifted his career to the Computer Services department, where he would eventually retire in 1996 with 34 years of service for Marathon.
Dick was an active volunteer in the Findlay community for many years after his retirement. His community service included assisting with the St. Paul's Church Community Dinners, Chopin Hall, City Mission and Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, he earlier served in support of his son's various activities, including as a Cub Scout Troop Leader, Soccer coach and on the Findlay Music Boosters.
The most important area of service for Dick was serving the Lord by serving with his church family at St. Paul's Church. His roles in the church included Adult Sunday School Teacher, Chair of the Administrative Board, Treasurer, Chairman of the Finance committee, and Chairman of Trustees. Some of his greatest joys included singing worship anthems in the St. Paul's choir, singing tenor with his dear friends in the St. Paul's Quartet and singing solos at St. Paul's and other churches in the Findlay area.
Dick's faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior was the foundation for his life. Colossians 3:12 says that the following character traits should be seen in the followers of Jesus: "compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience." In every interaction with Dick each of those character traits were evident because of God's work in his life, and Dick's desire to follow Jesus. Now, having been saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus and having finished the work that God had planned for Dick on earth, the Lord has taken him home to the place prepared for him (John 14:2-3).
The family thanks the Memory Care staff at Danbury Senior Living of Westerville, Parkside Village, for their outstanding and compassionate care of both Dick and Vivian through the last years of their lives.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held 2 hours (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.) prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
I lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church, Findlay and/or Capital City Hospice, Columbus.
