Remembering Dick Dunstan

It has been 11 years since the World Trade Centre vanished, and we learned about the tragic loss of Dick Dunstan.
Dick and I attended St. Aubyns Preparatory School and Felstead School together. By coincidence, we both chose to pursue our careers in America. I managed to contact Dick a couple of times, when I learned that he lived with his family in New Jersey. In retrospect, I only wish I had made more of an effort to visit him.
I have read a number of testimonials to Dick, and I cannot offer any greater tribute to him, other than to echo the those testimonials, which all share the same warm memories of him. Dick was a truly remarkable individual; he was blessed with a calm and constant demeanour, he was a great scholar and a highly talented sportsman. Dick excelled in Cricket, Field Hockey and Golf; he was a fierce competitor.
I do not know Dick's family, but my thoughts and prayers are constantly with them; he must have been a wonderful, loving husband and father.
My wife Elva and I have just returned from a trip to New York City and it was the first time I had a chance to visit Dick's Memorial; a fitting tribute to a wonderful man.
As the Freedom Tower struggles to emerge from the ashes of the World Trade Centre, Dick's name will be indelibly etched there in stone, and his spirit will linger eternally in the chilling air.

I had the pleasure of working with Richard at Sedgwick. He was such a kind and thoughtful man. Always willing to help. He and his lovely wife would give a barbecue party once a year and all his co-workers would be invited to his home. His family made you feel as if you were part of their family. I was deeply sadden when I learned Richard was among the missing. May God watch over his family. May the love of friends give them comfort and strength through these difficult days ahead. GOD BLESS THE DUNSTANS.

I had the pleasure of knowing Richard working with him in the Parsippany office. He was such a kind, sweet man. Whenever he saw me, he always took the time to say hello. My prayers are with his family and friends. May God bless you all.

I knew Richard a number of years dating back to his Sedgwick days. I rode the bus home with him many times and thought very highly of him. I know very my discussions in those train rides how much he loved his wife and kids. He talked about them all the times.



We all miss Richard.

My heartfelt sympathies to Richard's family and friends. I work in the Parsippany location of Aon, and often chatted with Richard in passing. He was such a delightful man, and the absence of his presence is deeply felt by all. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Richard and his family.

I just wanted to express my deepest sympathies to his family. Richard worked in the Parsippany office and I am the receptionist at that office. He was always very nice and talked very highly of his family. I will always remember him because he was a quiet man but always had something nice to say about everyone. He is missed in our office.
