My first meeting with Richard was as a Numismatic. As I became more involved with coins, we became friends. I truly miss Rich and Gale.

I first found out about his molds in the early 1990s, fresh out of college. I thought that I'd wandered on to Castings but no! All new molds. I ordered regularly and looked forward to new releases at Christmas. I met him personally first at the East Coast Show and then in Chicago in the late 1990s. He was great fun, friendly. At the East Coast Show, his booth was next to a guy who sold Russian wooden bears, which my wife bought, and the last year Rich went, the guy was not planning on being there next year. At my request, Rich went to the booth, paid for the "new release bear" for which I reimbursed him and included in his next package. He, Gale, and Lois were fun to meet and talk. If you want to see how far he came, go to the Internet Archive and search for Dutkins.com. The first hit on there is in 1997, pretty early on for the 'net. The WW2 molds number about 25. When you look at the Dunken site, you'll see the WW2 molds number 214!! As my wife Becky pointed out, this was due to my, and ALL OF OUR purchases and interest. We will never see that breadth and depth again. Ever. I've loved talking casting, molds, figures with him. His catalogue was the highlight of the year. I'd visit his website all the time, knowing exactly where each line ended and when the photos advanced, I knew there were new molds. Even now, 30 plus years, removed from my first order, casting with his molds is my solace on the weekends. He and his family have touched my life forever.

Richie was a beloved brother-in-law. We celebrated so many family events and vacations together. Some of the most memorable were the Brown family cruises to Florida and Cancun, and a week the Nevele in the Poconos during the first year of my marriage to Henry. I loved being part of the wonderful Brown family and will always cherish our many meals together, January-February birthday celebrations, Passover, led by Richie to the bitter end, and his playful teasing. Richie was warm, fun-loving, and valued his family most of all. I will miss his famous charburgers, our shared love of Judaism and Safam, and his kindness and devotion to all. You will be remembered with love.

Many years ago, I brought my PRICELESS baseball card collection to Rich (Rico) for him to appraise. After a thorough examination of my cards, he informed me the most valuable part of my collection was the 30 year old GUM. RIP my friend. Don Weisenstein
