Richard Arthur Elskamp

Richard Arthur Elskamp, 75, born and raised in Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, and a longtime resident of West Barnstable, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at Cape Cod Hospital from natural causes.

Richard was the son of the late Robert Elskamp and Alice (Thifault) Elskamp. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Gifford Elskamp, and his brother, David Elskamp.

He is survived by his two sons, Andrew Elskamp and his wife, Becky, and Michael Elskamp; and four grandchildren. He was deeply loved and faithfully cared for by Peter Russo, whose devotion and presence never wavered.

Richard proudly served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated mail carrier for 32 years with the United States Postal Service. He also had a lifelong love of music, sound, and craftsmanship, expressed through his passion for collecting and preserving antique radios, vacuum tubes, phonographs, speakers, and related historical pieces-objects he valued not merely as possessions, but as stories and voices from another time.

Richard will be remembered for his gentle nature, quiet intelligence, deep curiosity, strong work ethic, and the enduring legacy of the things he cherished.

Services will be held in Spring of 2026.
